Cleveland HiBore Driver - The Driver that Gets Results

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

Prior to the now popular Cleveland HiBore, Cleveland was known primarily for their wedges. Well, that’s all changed. The HiBore is now considered by many, as the driver of choice for golfers of all levels.

Cleveland has positioned itself rather successfully as the authority of wedges. Recently however, Cleveland has upped the ante by adding the driver to the list of things they do extremely well. The rapid pace of deployment into the premier driver ranks is quite inspiring to say the least. The technology behind the HiBore is nothing short of impressive.

The three main technologies at work behind the Cleveland HiBore driver are Energy Transfer Core, Distance Driven Geometry, and Full Face Performance. A short description of each is warranted to get a good a full depiction of the true performance potential of this driver.

The idea behind Energy Transfer Core is to create an efficient energy transfer that increase ball speeds, all from a system of thin, lightweight titanium spines. The Distance Driven Geometry concept consists of providing optimal launch conditions by moving the weight of the club head lower and deeper, this is called CG or Center of Gravity. And lastly, Full Face Performance is an alignment of the “sweet spot” that covers a large area of the club face increasing ball speed and distance.

Collectively, these three technologies result in a driver that puts a premium on a high Moment of Inertia (MOI). MOI is the latest buzz in the driver market , and with good reason. It is a fact that high MOI promotes a tighter dispersion of shots, something we all strive for in a driver especially. Cleveland has done a superb job of combining all of these technologies to make a heck of a driver, one that exceeds epectations on MOI.

The HiBore has two models of ancestry starting with the “original” and ending with the XL and XLS. The XLS is considered the more technologically advanced driver of the three and the king of MOI. The XLS offers a Standard, Tour and Draw versions making it even more accessible for all golfers to fit into a HiBore.

Take advantage of a driver that is built around a high MOI. Start throwing darts off the tee box with your new Cleveland HiBore. But best keep it quiet, you don’t want your buddies to find out your secret!

Perception Of Public Golf Course Often Misleading

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

For some people there has always been a somewhat negative perception about a public golf course, with the inference that it is not as well maintained as private courses or country clubs. The reality is, that just like many businesses open to the public, there are good ones and ones that are not so good, and there are others that rival some of the best private courses in terms of grounds condition and amenities. Some also believe that those who play on a public golf course are not serious about the quality of their game.

While many tournaments pit players against one another, to the golfer on the public golf course, it is not enough to have a better score than their competition. While cruising around the course, most rarely consider how well, or how bad, the other person is performing. Instead, they are competing against the golf course and not the other players in the contest. It is not until the end of the round that scores are tallied and then the friendly banter begins and the trash  talk begins about beating them the next time.

It has also been said that the true measure of a person can be found on the golf course as their patience and integrity is often put to the test. How well a person reacts to difficult situations and well as those where decisions about doing the right thing are frequent on the golf course and others will be watching, albeit from a distance and often unknowingly.

Course Conditions Can Vary Greatly

Depending on the golf course being played, conditions such as the cut of the greens, the length of the fairway grass and the condition of the tee boxes can vary. While most people believe that private courses and country clubs will offer the best conditions, many times a public golf course will have superior conditions, surpassing some of the exclusive playing fields.

It takes more than a name to establish a well-known golf course and the people that own and operate the course can make it a pleasure to visit or a travesty. Remember though, that even if the owner of the course is not well liked, chances are they will only be seen when starting to play. From then on, golfers are alone on the golf course, meandering through the acreage and lost in their own competition.

It is also recommended that, while playing the same golf course repeatedly allows people to become better at the game, to truly become a better golfer it will pay to visit different golf courses to see how well different angles and views can be determined in unfamiliar territory.
